A mother tells a story
“Tonight it will rain sands and you will see desert by dawn”
A parched land
Cracking underneath the footsteps of strangers
Wallowed in recollections of happy playing children
and wedding parades
The sand storm
Brushing unfamiliar skin
Snuffling through a hollow city
Deranged by the lost of a favorite window pane
The generous sky
Spreading sun rays cordially
While looking for kite flyers
Instead spotted unknown faces staring above
A young girl
Sobbing on her land
While letting sand resting on her lashes
Lifting palms to the sky
A child finishes the story
“It rained fire that night and I saw blood by dawn”

beautiful imagery, very nice and deep thought -
Carolina, I read this again tonight, then aloud to my son and his repsonse was, "that's an amazing poem, the first and last lines are perfect in their opposition"...this is also how I feel every time I read it...powerfully moved. Missing YOU, my friend. Peace always, Rhonda

Wow! Fantastic imagery! This picture is just technocolor in its dimensions. Powerful message hear. I believe even the deaf could not feign ignorance.
Well done!
