You hear whisper of the wind through the trees,
you see the moonlight shining down,
castings shadows all around.
Wilderness
You smell the wildflowers,
You feel the dew on the grass.
Wilderness
You are the prey,
You are the Predator.
Wilderness
In the middle of no where in the dead of the night,
you are nothing more than a creature.
Wilderness
You have only your instincts,
you are hunted.
Wilderness
Somethings never ever
change one of them is
The Wilderness

very very insightful
the title alone is thrilling. wonderful concept! i could think all day on what it means to be only a creature. and how true that when/if you do find yourself in the dead of night all alone, you do feel and are as just a creature. wonderful!!

Nice take on the wild

I like the 'soft innocence' you start out with - then the hard hitting truth that in this 'wilderness' of life we are all prey, we are all predators - and only our 'instincts' will keep us alive.
Well done!

A nicely structured poem that builds through the repetition with some nice ideas. I like the atmosphere of the piece which suggests space & open nature.
