You stumbled upon a dilemma,
When your mind’s eye
Was clouded with invisible tears
And the ending of your apathy
Began with a smile, a look,
A longing for what you could never have.
When the highlight of your day
Was a glance, a chance,
That an eye for an eye couldn’t count,
No, not when you happened to be the party concerned,
And your fears were found
Beneath a head of hair to cover your skin.
In such a wondrous calamity,
Such as was thought you’d never know,
When you carve this name into a bullet
And keep it close below your heart,
To remind yourself what you might have had,
Yet for what you never gave a chance.
Author notes
I haven't really written anything...worthy...for a long time now. I've TRIED...it's just all been rather forced out. But this is one of those things that just kind of poured from my fingers. Finally.
Please tell me what you think
