We'd be side by side throwing pillows
having fun.
Instead:
Braids have been untied,
Smiles have been broken repeatedly,
Little white lies have been told.
Dreams bleeding though the cracks,
Our love was the
Game of Easy come and Easy go.
To see you now cuts me like a knife
Every night the glow of the moon shines on me
reminding me somehow of the inside pain of you.
Thorns thrown prevented healing
Is this my lesson of failure?
Have my rose colored glasses fallen off?
Miles apart desperation locks all doors.
Searching for answers only the past can solve.
Realizing what you have doesn't fit with me.
Turn around now, don't look back, don't say goodbye.
I have already forgiven you my past lover of yesterday.
