i wish you could hear me
i just wanted to tell you
how much i love you dearly
i can't wait to see your pretty face
and to feel your loving care
when you hold me so close
and smooth my soft hair
mommy i'm so tiny
but i'm growing bigger everyday

i heard you and the doctor talking
what does abortion mean
do i get to come out early
i can't wait to be seen
mommy why do you cry
and say i was a mistake
do you not want me mommy
you're making my little heart ache
what is the doctor doing
why is he coming into my space
ow mommy he hurt me
what did he inject into my face
why is my heart stopping
mommy i can feel
my heart feels like its dying
mommy i want it to heal

i want to grow up big and make you proud
yet i hear a roaring in my ears
and it's getting very loud
mommy it hurts really bad
why did you let him do this to me
i just wanted to make you proud
but i guess you'll never see
even though you didn't want me
mommy i have something to say
i loved you mommy
i wish you would have gave me one more day...

This is a very powerful poem. I personally believe abortion is wrong on so many levels. My ex-wife aborted our first child while I was drawing up plans for a home-made cradle. I didnt know anything about her plans. She told me she was going to visit a friend. Then, when she came be she had lost the baby. When I found out, I was shattered. It has been a darkness at the core of my existence ever since. I find it hard to talk about it to this day.
Thank you for bringing your talents to this subject. I wish I could applaud more than 3.
