As Artist, Poet

As artists palette, paints, prepare
so poets channel insight rare.
One canvas fills, one paper inks,
the foremost and the least of links.

Both tune respective streams, compare
perspective, sensitively share
where, true to self there neither sinks
as each through intuitions thinks
the way to harmony, aware
that perfect strangers anywhere
may beauty sense beyond time's brink -
horizons widen, never shrink.

Both pictures form, accompany
creative thrust with spirit free.

I love the comparison of writer and artist. I think poets are a bit of both. The animated graphic you chose is great.

The poet (the actor, the musician) is an artist, of course.
Your poem portrays this truth beautifully.

Wonderful! I love how you wrote this poem, and decorated it as well! I always love reading tings unfamiliar, yet amazing in their own way. And the ability to create...without a doubt one of the world's beautiful things. Great work, thank you for entering. Good luck!

  • Oh, this was great! I love the rhyming in it. I hate it when people write horrendous rhyme, and this does it right. I love the comparison between poetry and painting (or other artist's creative work) and in fact, I wrote a poem about it once myself (not rhyming though) Pretty cool, I like.
  • Firstly I must say I love the picture. Your comparison of the artist and the poet as intuitive channelers of beauty and harmony, broadening horizons is precisely yet delicately expressed. I like the exactness of the control within the structure as a means of expressing the freedom of the spirit, although I must say, as an amateur, I find it daunting to comment on your work.
