and i said
blame me
on the weather.
apologetically.
i was born during a tornado
and i think that's why
my heart is so
spun.
(or maybe
it's just
the lines
made on mirrors
that now show in
my face)
you zipped up my
jacket
smiling, your fingernails
humming against my throat as
you stitched the
cracks in my eyes up
kissing you is
like sleepwalking
and
my resolve crumbles
against the vodka on your breath
the cracks
in your skin
opened to tell me secrets
braille heartbeating
against my crooked fingers
you bent down
slowly
as to not frighten me
began to chew me
up
you swished me
around
in your mouth
chrysalis
you spat me
back up
and i was
infinite
(the echoes of
screams long held back
all faded into
the ashtrays of the ages
a new beginning
for an addict nymph girl)
Author notes
call me the nymph.
Please tell me what you think

that was so beautiful.
and so was everything else
this piece was just so light and emotional.
the penultimate stanza was so beautiful, such gorgeous imagery.
