She's dreaming of tomorrows
Of sunshine and butterflies.
Trapped in a cycle of self-doubt,
She's trying so hard,
To claw her way out.
Down-trodden, abused and ridiculed
For her flights of fancy
Her sad eyes reflect a sad world,
That has lost the will to
Fall into the imagination.
She finds solace in her creations,
Her art speaks to the world,
But the world is to deaf
To acknowledge the beauty
And truth, of the words.
She's dreaming of tomorrow,
Of clarity and understanding.
She'll never give up her vision,
It holds her together
When the world tries to break her.

I like this poem over all...the beginning is a little cliche' what with the sunshine and butterflies but once I got past that, it actually has depth to it. I love that last line
