Back Where You Began

The key to me
you took, polished and then mislaid.
You did not understand your latent power
how your demeanor magnitized things off my page.

You settled
for only what you thought you could savage.
A mighty mistake; that did cost you.

Detrimental waves and layers of 'dead' time later,
you still roam about,
but now you are left searching...

For that same key you took from me, and lost
is the self-same one you need for your liberty.

A very lovely piece of writing, short and yet so full of meaning. An excellent, thought-inspiring piece. Thank you for sharing.

I really like the structure of this, the meaning as well. How things can seem so clear and yet no. Yes we all need that key indeed.

a good piece of poetry you have penned - there are times when we get broken yes, but we bounce back with smiles
