Like a parasite feeding on the flesh of my thoughts, darkness invades the mind, rotting the sanity of my reality. I delve within the depths of the Styx attempting to escape, only to surface within leech infested marshes sucking the life from me. Addiction burns to the core, branding my spirit with the resentment of an uncontrollable intoxication thought distant. Caught in the whirl-pooled grasp of Poseidon, desperation sets in clawing at river bank branches. Final breath is drawn with Father's call home as decaying bark crumbles between my fingers.
Emerging from flaming waters still running, my death and rebirth come as one. This child, am I, is born amidst the chaos of Tartarus with a darkened beauty few will see at first glance, hidden by the innocence of compassion. Harmless, to the eyes of the mundane, yet fierce in view to the third eye of a seer as she walks in realms where fear brings a feast to beasts best not spoken of. Where shadows whisper with rustled scurries, a stampeding race to be free of tunnel vision's target as huntress treads grounds, shape shifting to quadded paws.
It is there in the darkness, she reigns in her element, acting only with primal instincts. Beast and man alike know no terror comparable to the wrath unleashed from a fiery maiden's hunger. Only when sated, and bathed in blood upon the mound of undead she as harvested will you know the truth of that which goes bump in the night; and when the night grows quiet, the winds still bellow with a cackle cast from the soul of Hade's child.

This is you! There is a mystery that overwhelms the reader written here. You have reached into the dark abyss and pulled to the surface the magic it holds. Very vivid and yes...quite dark and intense. I was caught up in this work from beginning to end. I actually got chills running down my spine. Wow! Had to say that!

Wow. This is going to be such a hard contest to judge. Theres so many different styles, genres and situations expressed.
I loved you piece. It was simply stunning with its utterly powerful, intense, INTENSE emotion and images...
Its different too. Feels truly dark. Really makes me rot.
Excellent. Thanks for the entry! -
Deliciously, intoxicatingly dark (who knows if that a word?) First read is an overwhelming feeling of intensity and darkness, second read grasping the words and the emotions, third read with an acceptance makes you feel like that one morphing into the creature, high speeds, burning hunger, savagely searching.
Made my mouth water, made me want blood...
Thought twice bout saying that.
This is just something nothing can compare to, it's raw, truthful. It's just real, something that many can never beginning to even grasp or understand unless they are in this element or have been.
There's so much more I could say but won't for fear I'd bore you to death.
Most stirring piece I've ever read...
