loneliness is when a cold wind blows
cold, so cold
no one hears me, no one listens when i call
be my friend, i say, don't let me be alone
but starless nights pass slowly
thoughts and voices ring through my head
i no longer hear them
i try to smile
gone
when the stars come out again,
i feel their light
and i know their solitude.
there are millions of them, just as
there are millions of us, and
i am but one.
cold, so cold
Author notes
I wrote this while in a kind of depression from loneliness, and I wrote it from the heart.

Depression is a horrible thing, but with strength you can overcome it.

Wow, I really like this. The rhythm of the poem is spot on- it flows so perfectly and makes it so easy to read. i really like these lines:
"no one hears me, no one listens when i call
be my friend, i say, don't let me be alone
but starless nights pass slowly"
Thats amazing!
Really the only critique I have would be 'millions' in line 13, you forgot the O lol.
Great job with this, and welcome to allpoetry!
