Dr Suess after Night Shifts on a shot of Acid

I'm Gill, I am

I don't like computer spam, I am

slightly tired

uninspired, will get fired

if the boss finds out

I use the puter in work

to go beserk and write poetry

through the night

in spite

of .................... work!

[who is this berk, who wants to eat green eggs & ham]

I'm Gill, I am

and I don't like fried spam

like a Monty Python fan

should open a can

I can,

I can

I can

stay awake for 11 hours

make reality out of plastic flowers

Terry Gilliam cartoon heads come to my mind

I squish them with an ernomous foot

I should keep my mouth shut

and wave a dead parrot like a fan

it is all very unkind

unkind

unkind

to make me do this

after working 44 hours

all this, for the sham

I'm dead beat I am

[what's my name?]

I'm Gill, I am

I really don't like Dr Suess

it makes my head come un-loose

I waddle like a goose

it's of no use

I am obtuse

I'd rather eat mousse

than green eggs and ham

I'm Gill, I am

now please let me die

I can't rhyme

and now you know why

I shall curl up and bloody well die

I'm Gill, I am!

 God help me...............................................................

Good one, Gill... a funny take on the original poem. Dr. Seuss is fun to write to and you did well with this one, much better than mine, even though I had fun doing it
Best of luck in the contest

I enjoyed this very much but prefer to think of it as being inspired as a slap happy thing that came from being awake for so long rather than a shot of acid which I HOPE didnt inspire this. You are good at rhyming, and more importantly you made me laugh. Thanks for entering my contest.

oohh no, no, no... no acid! it was only a play on words as I'm terrible at rhyming, so it all comes out like Dr Suess on acid!

      thanks

    Once

while in Paris, we went looking for the best chocolate moose. This took hours... I was distracted with red wine and fruit.

    I like to rhyme;

    I do I do.

Absolutely fantastic work! I think your best ever, you'll have me to thank when you're rich and famous writing 'seuss' style children's books! (ooh, scary!)

    Dear Gill I am
( which is Terry's surname when all said and done! )
I was pleased to hear you don't like spam
it is pink and pasty and not at all tasty
or is that not at all tasty, pasty and pink,
It's not that your rhyme is indeed a crime
or a crime indeed commited to rhyme,
after 44 hours of Pythonesque thoughts and oughts
and an enormous foot squishing lot's of noughts
There is a notion of whatever next, re text,
of berks and breaks and no,no,no mention of cakes,
it's a wonder at all dear Gill I am
    that you cannot tolerate spam,
this made me smile for more than awhile
and as I go on my merry way for another day
    I am Yvette I am

Couldn't resist joining in the fun and frolics
and btw I don't like spam either and I know my rhyme
    is b******s!

PSS...did I spy you saying you're a True Blue? and that Man U was evil???

Does this mean we are soul sisters, united by the Toffies????

Oh I don't care what the Red Sh*** say!

P.S. I think you and Natalia should write a conversation piece while on this trip! haha. That would be quite entertaining.

THIS IS FUN! WOO! It is quite a trip!

Although, I certainly do think you can rhyme, and please, don't die!

I do know where this comes from. Although perhaps my poems like this are more self-induced...because I tend to go through bouts of insomnia...if insomnia is self-induced?

I think Dr. Suess would approve, surely!

I got such a good chuckle from this one, Gilly, lolol!!

Either you need to go lie down in a dark room or in an open field of sunlight, my dear, with no plastic flowers, green eggs and ham and definately no puters

    SO enjoyed this!!!!!!!
