My Office Life's A Nine to Five
Workin Monday To Friday I Don't feel alive
I jump into my car and floor it to the show
Off With My Suit Jacket and here we go
With A loosened up tie around my Neck
I pick up my Guitar acting like I'm Beck
A feeling for the Ages A Feelin for the times
The Cracklin of the amplifiers to make my Set's Rhymes
I live on Stevie Ray's Licks
The Spacy sounds Of Jimmy H's Chil'e Mix
The Lives of Bands flow in my Kind
Livin for the weekend in my Rock N Roll Mind
The Bass is warm and ready to slap now
Time to sing a wierd Chorus somehow
The Beats coming from the drums ringing
The Dual Wailing guitars are Singing
Looking there at my Briefcase and Suit I see
The Stuff and Junk of The Yuppie side of Me
Only Knowing The Sound I am Flying by Night
Like Rush and TRIUMPH I will fight the good fight
I Live For Jackson Brown's Words
Roy O's Guitar could move people like Herds
SlowHand and Jimmy Paige can play
Bo Diddly and Steve Howe Are here to stay
With A heavy Heart I had to put on my suit
The weekend has come With one Final Salute
I Flash Future Forward and Look to the end
Come Next Friday off with the Suit Hello Rockin Weekend
I Live For Jeff Beck's Truth
That Love is Blue and uncooth
I Go For Jeff Lynnes Hook
And Have to give props to James Hetfield's look
I Live When Frampton came Alive
John Paul George and Ringo's Jive
Ocasek and ORr on Guitar and Bass
Jon Anderson and Yes earned their place
Jail Breaking and A Cowboy's Song
Thin Lizzy proved they wherent Wrong
Jim Morrison and Procol Harum made
Strange People, and a Whiter Shade
Be It Layla or Bellbottom Sadness
Derrick caused Shear Madness
Welcome to Machine, Lapse in Reason
Pink Floyd had an Album for all Season
Building Empires, or singing in Lucidiety
Geoff Tate and Queensryche break Serenity
51/50 and faster the 55 Van halen Scream
2506to4 and Old Days Chicago gleam
Geoffry Downes and Lonesome Dave slowride
Boston's more then a Feeling I cant Hide
Bohemian Rhapsody and Freddie arent far behind
Cause they are all part of the Rock and Roll Mind
Author notes

Well not much more that I can add to Funnel's comment, but I agree. So dead-on. It's... hm. Lemme think about the word. Well-written, yes, but that's not just it. It is... POWERFUL. It captures you from the start, ya know? And it's something people can relate to- not necessarily with rock 'n' roll, altho that is popular, but in general- the freedom of the weekend, and of the music. It's wonderful, Tarkus.
And the allusions are perfect. Don't sweat. It just means you know what you're talking about it, you FEEL it, yah!

Definately adore it. It has a very awesome intrigue to it...I love that. The rock n' roll man of the weekend, strapped to the desk during the week, enslaved-sheer freedome when the art of the rock n' roll culture and expression erupts when finally able to flee the job by every week's end...good reason to bear such an existence. Very witty allusions. Heavenly, I love it!
Quite cultured and smart!
