The night wind is whispering
soft song through the trees,
the branches are swaying in time.
The full moon is playing
peek-a-boo with the clouds
in a star-studded huge pantomome.
One lone star is falling
like a drop on a pool,
swallowed it is by the night.
Shadows disguising
familiar fields,
shifting with change of the light.
Silver and ebony
painting the scene,
a landscape so different from day,
immersing our world
in a pale gentle glow
