can't remember if it was the noise of life
or the quiet of death that compelled me
but i know i will never look back
the moment is all i have
each grain of sand
falling almost imperceptibly into the hourglass...
that's all i have
it taunts me as it falls
like it knows i can never get it back
staring at me
from the bottom of the glass
amidst all those other moments I've wasted
wasted sitting here
9 to 5
holding back
biting my tongue
suppressing my urges
a laughable life
a predictable one
i need this new release
this fear
fear of the unknown that i keep constantly in front of me
it's all i have
should i die (let's hope i do)
i die in peace
peace only spontaneity and chaos can bring
Author notes
