The words you spoke are closing in
And feel like fire upon my skin.
Unprepared for what you said
I say them over in my head.
They don't make any sense to me
You're leaving all security.
Packed your bags to walk away
From everyone who hopes you'll stay.
You're reasoning has many flaws
And strays from all protective laws
You want freedom, but it's not free
The problems just hurt differently
So go ahead, take the unwise course
In the end, you will taste remorse
With a heart full of concern
I wait for the day when you return

Just back for another look

Sometimes we don't listen to reason at all
Good use of rhyme here and I like the storyline behind this piece. I think the final line would read smoother without the word 'for in it:
I wait the day when you return
Thank you for your entry and best wishes in the contest
