sad girl

why did he leave her with no goodbye
the one that he protected for years
she looked up to him
she held him so high


why did he abandon her
why did he leave the fear
to ravage her and bleed her dry


where did he go
did he know what he condemned her to
that little girl he walked out on


the one he left to fend for herself
where did he go when he left her
with no hope and no strength


that girl he forgot faded away
polluted by the evil to eat her alive
did he mourn her


the girl he left to wither away
will she ever be the same
does he care that she died


does he pray for forgiveness
for abandoning her

does he cry for that little girl
the one he left for dead

never to return again

    Your emotion and pain come through in this - that is a sign of a good write. I do feel you need more in this - a bit more explanation for the reader, a bit more for others in the same situation to connect to. Such as - did he just walk out and get his own life? did he leave you in a dangerous situation? or did he die and leave you that way?
    I think it's hard on people when they are young to have the one person they could trust, leave them. But for whatever reason he left, I know it wasn't you that was the reason. Best wishes to you in dealing with this pain. I hope it can be resolved for you. But you sound like a strong person that has learned you can sometimes only trust one person in your life - yourself. Trust yourself and be the best that you can be - that will give you the greatest reward.

    This was very sad. I had no idea that you lost a brother. I am the oldest, two younger brothers and a baby sister. I couldn't imagine losing any of them... being like a protector of them you know? You are obviously very strong. I hope this doesn't weigh on your mind too much.
