Domino Effect

Essence of nature
pulses in solid beats
as I listen to harmonic sounds
of a perfect symphony.

I can feel the moon
as it commands the tides,
cleansing the shores
with vibrations of harmony.

All movements pre-ordained
in perfect cadence,
as I witness the cycle of life
in constant renewal.

Waves of the emotion
wash through my soul
as even a cacophany of sounds
brings peace to my heart.

Somehow she knows
when her heart skips a beat
and all is confusion,
knowing something is amiss.

Mankind tampers with her soul
throwing in a thoughtless progression
as she heaves and festers
with the boil that grows.

As the invasion continues
her integrity cracks
as her fragile veil of accord
shatters.

Dominoes fall
balance is compromised,
as perplexion puts in disarray
this miracle of composition.

Lamentably the masked effect
has taken hold
for progress and nature
I've never seen in concordance.

Gaylene, this is phenomenal.  The description and the unique phrasing just totally grabbed me. The depth of thought, particularly in the conclusion just left me in awe. I am so impressed with this!

You made me picture the moon as a conductor of sorts and the tides as the orchestra. It was just beautiful!

    I ADORED THESE LINES:

    All movements pre-ordained
    in perfect cadence,
as I witness the cycle of life
    in constant renewal.

The way you personified nature--particularly the part about her heart skipping and knowing something is wrong--was just wonderfully done.  I love how you made the transition from perfection, to wasted and disharmony.  So skillful.

Such a beautiful work of art.  Thank you for bringing this to the party.
