Within these eyes are held wisdom of life
having learned with sadness not to trust mankind,
so closely connected from beginning of time
yet so far apart in discovered truths.
Poked, prodded and studied to learn about yourselves
yet natures so opposed I can't feel any afinity,
just used and disgarded, of no real consequence
unlike me who can live in harmony with all.
Dominate you must, taking my freedoms away
behind prison bars in zoos where I am stripped of privacy,
jeered at and ridiculed because I look different
yet deep within my heart beats a gentle rhythm.
In thinking you're superior I'm resigned to my fate
living life in earth's jungles away from prying eyes,
in tune with earth's beat, unlike you are able to do
as I share life's lessons from you to my descendants.

yet natures so opposed I can't feel any afinity,
just used and disgarded, of no real consequence
unlike me who can live in harmony with all."
