I am enveloped tenderly like a babe,
my infancy caressed with all her faith.
A sprinkling of mist is laid upon my soul
as I cup the glistening cool liquid.
She is the sea with green jaded eyes,
calling me to drown in her resplendency.
I look in the abyssal pools of her calm,
this memory will last me a life time.
Come sift the sand like cake batter while
sculpting castles with pretty formed pails
Stringed treasures are fashioned with tiny
sea shells, they whisper life's secrets to me.
Bathers lounge near the oceans frothy edge,
patting the water where colorful fish play.
Crablets scurry away from bended toes as
laughter leaps in the air for sheer pleasure.
Warmed baked earth nudges me to nap as a
fresh flowered cloth provides the melding.
Tiny grains of life form story dreams
and the waves sing me a sweet lullaby.
Safety is born of such things as this
and the sun sets her golden ray glimmers.
My mother ocean lays upon heavens lap
and fireflies greet my opened child eyes.
Crackling fills the wood scented air,
Big foot prints trail along the beach.
Toss to me a star fish and I will set
him free upon the ocean to breathe again.
Arms cuddle me as I smile for the camera,
then break free to challenge the big world.
I run across cool sand and fall in a heap,
looking up to see stars dancing in the water.
my infancy caressed with all her faith.
A sprinkling of mist is laid upon my soul
as I cup the glistening cool liquid.
She is the sea with green jaded eyes,
