One day I have to spread my wings and I shall surely fly,
For me this is a lifetime as a tiny Butterfly;
I'll flutter in the sunshine, spreading colour everywhere,
For in sweet nature's garden, I just haven't got a care.
I fly with Mr Honey Bee amongst the plants of green,
He buzzes round so happily, makes honey for his queen;
Sweet nectar his for taking as he suckles every bloom,
Then off he flies to his safe hive to build another room.
The dew drops shine upon the rose that smells so very sweet,
The apple tree bends branches down to offer fruit to eat;
This haven is my special home for all the world to see,
Content I rest upon the bough, in death I'm flying free.

I want a butterfly day - just for me - just like THIS one.
Oh this was just delightful to read. Your rhyme is excellent with perfect flow. Loved it.
Perfect to the contest requirements.
A beautiful entry.
