Listening hands
stir gently
a momentum
good,
well into deeper waters.
Where sometimes
sleeping sickness lay
along with...
restless daughters!
Not bringing
any battle,
only listening
soothing calm
with curves,heaving breasts
we love so much,
how could she bring one harm?

I know Gil is a nurse, and just loves her job. Such a poignant dedication to a real-life earth angel. Your freeverse is especially good. I will have to peruse some of your other writes as well. Thank you so much for entering my contest and very best wishes!

I'm so glad you wrote this for Gilly. She is a wonderful woman, a talented poet and a good friend to me.
It's lovely and it captures her essence so very well in so few words. I'm sure those "listening hands" of her shook a little when she read this poem
I'm smiling - and she'll know why!!

A wonderful tribute. Spot on Gilly.

And aren't we all so lucky to have her in our lives?

e~

-
What a wonderful dedication - she is indeed quite lucky, but then so are we all... just to know her

-
This makes me smile.
There is no pretentious air to this, only a simple gesture of gratitude. I appreciate that in a way I can't quite explain

-
Well done
In a style not unlike Gil yet different enough to be you. I know she will like this.
Oh. She did!

I am an avid fan of NurseChilly, aka Gilly, so am honed to the precision of poetry that is written in tribute of the writer of Manchester musings, Tib Street and Angeline et al.
Especially liked " listening hands" as a poet, as a nurse, a mother, friend , the hands listen and indeed gently stir a momentum, a sisterly way forward from that which holds others back.
The calm with curves arcs and arches personna and femininity, this is a Ruebensque lady and make no mistake, no shadows are cast but cool places to stand in the shade of the sun.
Heaving breasts... Yes, the mammaries of motherhood and nurturing seeking what we all seek to peek, twin tipped nourishment at the apex of appellation.
A poetic tribute to the tributary that flows from the stream of the river that runs through NurseChilly! Bravo!

I love it!
Oh it looks even better on the page... wow!
thank you, thank you - it is so ME!!
- You, are very astute and clever at sussing people out and their little nuances, I think there's a hint of 'white witch' in you too
I love, love, love this and am bookmarking it now.. so precious to me
