That is all we want, you know.
To be asked.
To be included,
invited inside
that space
you call your own.
We can't invade.
Can't cross your threshold
boldy brazen.
Not if we want to stay
more than just a moment...
more than just a touch
...or two.
Long enough to create
shared moments.
that settle
in the memory like mist.
Like watching clouds
hanging over water.
One desire realized.
We could create
sacred moments
one hand
inside another
for strength
for encouragement
for security.
Tender moments,
silent as a baby's breath
that make clouds move
by the sheer will
of two
wanting, needing,
searching,finding.

I Love it.
Is this the start of a great relationship or will it be ships passing in the night? Hard to say, just have to wait and see.

How sad when two minds can't merge
Each drawing separate distinctions of today
One posed to the future
another to the past
Each seeking today once more, yet not seeing today
is within their grasp
if they would only reach out and

I know exactly what you mean Maddie. Sometimes it's
like their on two entirely separate planets. Brings
to mind the old Frankie Valli song...
My eyes adored you
Though I never laid a hand on you,
My eyes adored you
Like a million miles away from me you couldn't see
How I adored you:
So close, so close and yet so far away
Have a lovely weekend...
Hugs...Eddy

I do so agree that all we want is to be "invited inside that space you call your own." I love the tone of this poem. There is a wistfulness about these words that conveyed to me a personal need for closeness that isn't really satisfied. A lovely and heartfelt poem.
Good luck in the contest!
