This Forsaken Desert

Missing image

Parched, ravenous,

I crawl haphazardly

from this forsaken desert

of blasphemed memories,

seeking truth

I once thought

I knew.

Eyes cast low,

mouth trembling murmurs -

suddenly, I feel

a soothing, swirling whirlwind

coming slowly

from the east,

heading south

where my heart abides.

How can I refuse

each essence of the very substance,

the very sustenance

I have sought so fiercely

under forever's molten moon?

How can I deny

this rising flesh,

eternal sunrise

as it reaches

for the lingering light

of love?

I cannot bear

this lonely burden

of beauty

as yet unknown...

Sorrow? There seems much more joy and hope in this than sorrow, my friend ... a whirlwind of eternal sunshine that feeds the soul

You know how to stir my leaves so early in the morning here in SA, Vlindertjie!

This is beautiful, my friend... I agree with Lynda, such power here... the essence of a woman feeling the pull of tomorrow, of beauty, of passion..

"This time called life was meant to share" - Walter Rinder.. and I'm so happy to share in your friendship, your heart.
