Two holes in my head
Dangle in hesitation, as quietness envelopes
The moisture they engulf when
Staring into the depth of your own.
I calculated and retained all
Aspects with clear focus and admiration.
I chose well in measuring the decidedness
That produced like hot lava all around us.
And still,
We fall.
Dawn breaks the darkness
That cracks the surface beneath our gaze.
And we stare--
And I stare--
Into your eyes.
Drowning, yet high above ground level,
Fading in and out with loss of strength
---Your holes, they burn and intensify
Through me, journeying into me and my lock.
I open uncertain, hovering above the risk
In your leaving, and needing time to heal
From fear of pain and learning
That everything is energy
(and energy is the quiet heart.)
[I shine in you,
Do I shine in you?
Do you see the glitter,
The light behind the darkness
I show when I cry.
Does truth echo through these
Windows?]
And still,
We fall.
Dawn breaks the darkness
That cracks the surface beneath our gaze.
And we stare--
And I stare--
Into your eyes.
