I was burning with pain each long winter night
My life had no joy
I was desperate in sorrow
I met her one day
We'd talk under the midsummer light
My intentions were clear, her's not so
Our meetings were short
I'd think of her contantly
How she would smile
Or walk with a flow
Was it my heart that she taunted
Or my life itself
Because if she thought of me
As I thought of her
And I got all I wanted
A shock from despair
Into her arms
And her thoughts
And her care
Might have broken me beyond repair
