He strode complete and satisfied within himself
His Ego, a manageable size, did not throw a shadow
The place inside him set aside for the bride
Was vacant but waiting to be awash with heaven's show
As he knew she would, the bride appeared in his life
His readiness was apparent and he recognized her
For she mirrored the inside of him and his heart leapt
At the grandeur of heaven's show in feminine confines
He gathered all that he had saved and offered it
His plans were fastidious, his displays were regal
And nothing could be over done for the One
In his dreams he knelt in the warmth of her gentleness
As time and knowing would have it, they did wed
And he drew her into himself without reservation
Neither spared expressions of adoration
Nor was there pretense or manipulation
Still, one day the Bride felt as though she was required
As though the place he carved out for was for need
And she became overwhelmed with her perceptions
Reacting as though her fear was his truth
This was expressed from her heart through her lips
Leaving him to mourn her embrace of a lie
Yet, such misinterpretation comes frequently to women
And men once their heart's desire has appeared
Her impression could only breed resentment and distance
Neither of which would he allow permanent residence
Leaving him to rearrange his love, not rescind it
For his gift was given and there it would remain
He strode again as though no one was at his side
Observing that she could not keep up
His quiet negotiations of personal preferences diminished
And he did more of what he alone wanted
No harsh expressions were offered to her
But his cape of independence was donned once more
It fanned far behind as he moved deftly
His former attentiveness faded gradually
Frequently she thought it had been an act
Attributed to mannerisms of courting often created
To lure love to the surface like a water lily
For now she implored he make more time for her
She eventually began her cohabitation with his truth And chose then to fear the possibility of his leaving her
She did not respond to this fear with distance
But clung more tightly to him for the rest of their lives

What a well written, yet melancholy write.
A shame that such things occur, yet so true. Clinging because they are afraid of loneliness. I don't know if it;s just a female thing either... Yet I know that I am guilty of this particular crime. -
Well written, good flow and word choice, but such a sad tale. Human nature is strange.
