Sadness, disappointment, what secret lies
Behind those dark and piercing eyes
Maybe violence hatred or strife
Too overwhelming for such a young life
Hopefully I'm reading them all wrong
Just a second glance at days now gone
Days when idleness had crowded her mind
Dreams unfulfilled were left behind
So much she had hoped to do
Now those dreams would not come true
She had not listened to what was said
Just lay there dreaming in her bed
Too late she awoke to a simple truth
For a dream to come true, it's up to you
There is work that must be done
Sometimes from dawn to setting sun
Nothing comes easy she realizes now
It's achieved by the sweat of your brow
Maybe it's not too late for you
Give it a try, see what you can do
