The year is 2063,
Machines are in control, humans are not free.
Humans are tracked with a scanned bar code,
The burdens we endure are a heavy load.
Just to go across town, a sector pass we need,
Humans are animals, thats the new decree.
Our DNA is cataloged and stored in a huge database,
Keep up with your work, or a clone will take your place.
The job you do is based on your DNA not skill,
Do what you are told or its you they will kill.
Martial law is the norm in every state,
If we don't change our ways it will be too late.
So let's think about the future, right now in this hour,
We can control our own destiny and not give machines all of our power.

It does seem we will be our own disruction. This portrayed that really well, Nice one
-
thoughtful and perturbing
As a matter of fact, we are animals, but we are supposed to be "thinking" animals, but we haven't been doing too much of that as late, lol! You are prophetic, for you point exactly to the direction we are heading, at least in my opinion. Your poem/story here should be required reading for several people I can think of, like, maybe starting at the top??
Very nicely done, thank you.
