~Whiff of Happiness~

 

 

Swift is the whiff of happiness in heartfelt smiles
Shining bright as blooms of spring adorn church isles
Mist meeting faces from a thunderous waterfall
Effervescent with God’s ever flowing gift, above all
If down in spirit, listen to the music of natures call

 

Boats sailing the seas to extraordinary lands
Afar and near, folk make friendships by shaking hands

 

The soft velvety kiss upon a lover’s lips
Catapulting stars and a total eclipse
Spring water so cool and inviting, it has to be tasted
Apples, juicy and sweet they just can’t be wasted
Wild rhododendrons, that ask to be worn on the head
Another helping of whole wheat, fresh brown bread
Memories of a rose scented granny in her rocking chair
As children dream of giant castles floating on air
Ostrich plumes of white, still beautify the hats of Mrs. Blair

    Nicely done. An accomplishment to be proud of, certainly. Acostics offer a wonderful challenge to me...when I see one I am always tempted to respond in kind, or to run off with my pen and write some also. nice write!

    I love acrostics & you did such a fine job of this. This looks to be quite a challenge & you finesse this so beautifully that you make it look like child's play!     Second letter acrostic with rhyme to boot! Plus wonderful images to enjoy! A poem like this is like a puzzle to piece together, and you did that very well.

    Excellent!

    This whole piece is so full of life and imagery! It is a kalediscope of the beautiful things in life. To achieve the 2nd letter Acrostic in such a sweet and flowing manner is a creative accomplishment. The Background compliments this poem well!

    The flow was very nice. What are rhododendrons? That is a hard word to pronounce. I liked the background. I wasn't sure what all the things were connected.

      Rhododendons are beautiful flowers that grow on huge bushes, they are so beautiful and grow wild...you will often find them growing in the gardens of stately homes...the flower in my border is a rhododendron...
      My poem is about the things that can make you smile and bring fleeting happiness in sight, sound, taste, memories, dreams and thoughts...thank you for dropping by to read, I appreciate it

    An excellent title. Heartfelt. Whimsical. Very good imagery, flow, rhyme and tone. Lovely depth of feeling. Vivid descriptives. Good word choice, assonance and strong alliteration. You paint a delightful picture with your words... magical. My only suggestion is to use a little more punctuation. Yes, this is an acrostic, but it is poetry, and beautiful poetry at that! Well penned and much enjoyed.

And speaking of backgrounds, my son is learning how to do backgrounds he is working on a new one for me I have the ones you made for me, on some of my writes and home page, till he get the new one done... it is gonna be awesome, much like the one you did for me! I wish I were talented enough to make them. But I will leave that to you two
