Shadows of my past
Haunts my nightmares and my dreams
And when it wakes me up at night
There's no one to hear my screams

It happened long ago
My innocence stripped away
Never is there a memory
That I don't think of everyday

It lingers in my head
And tortures my bleeding heart
I try to hold on to my sanity
But everything falls apart

Everyday I die emotionally
And everything feels so wrong
Everything I thought was home
I know now I don't belong

I wish that things were different
I wish I didn't have to think
My soul has gone to pieces
And my heart will surely sink

I can never find the peace
That my heart doth truly need
I will say goodbye to the world I know
And now I do the dirty deed

You will forget about me
With the days of life ahead
I take the pills now in my hand
And lie down upon my bed

I really loved you all
But now I kiss my life away
I pass onto another life
And dream of better days

There I will find serenity
And my heart will hurt no more
I slip out of consciousness
And walk through heaven's door

My guiding angel before me
She leads me to the light
Where peace has brought me happiness
I no longer have to fight

I hope you all are happy now
That you don't have me around
I do not want you at my funeral
When they put me in the ground

Your days will be much merrier
Now that I am dead
You hated me until the end
At least that's what you said

So I bid a final goodbye
And leave you with a smile
I hope I have relieved your unhappiness
If only for awhile
