On the tree there stands engraved
Two names and a heart, forever.
Dug in so deep beneath the bark
Lies my name, his left high but still together.
Inside his name lives a worm,
That controls what you can see.
And beneath the roots sits a box
Where only the worm and the name can be.
And now thats all they are to me.
My name sits still scratched in so deep
Alone inside the hollow cave
A mark so deep it can;t be erased
The tree so broken it can't be saved.
Author notes
This is about a relationship that meant everything to me, but my boyfriend cheated on me.
