Directly below me
Is the groud
On which I stand
My foundation of education
I'm repeatedly trapped here
Until I'm done
But I wouldn't have it any other way
Though the length of time
I spent in here was great
Compared to the amount of time
That I have lived
It has taken 75%
Of my total time here
To understand
Its not so bad here
Because of the people
For without them
This place would just be an old building
The people,
Very supportive
Sometimes there's conflict, static or competition
But that's what makes life intresting
Fixing what's wrong
Surviving pressures
And striving for better
They give me all of this
As I am just another beast
Called a student
In this school
I'm secretly proud to be a member of
Called Maine East
Author notes
This is dedicated to the school I go to(Maine East High School) and the people that go there as well.
I shall miss them dearly when I graduate, for the rest of my life.

aww.
its gona suck when all the seniors graduate. I'm glad you have finally decided school isnt that bad. And I'm glad you have gotten this far. There are times where I can remember you were not planning to even graduate highschool. I'm proud of you. This poem is very good.

I like how you begin describing Maine East as a "trap", but then you say how you would not have it any other way. I also like how you show how the people influence you and make school life worth being around for. Very nice! You give a glimpse into what high school really is.
