Faded Memories

I rush
Tears of sadness
Crawling down swollen cheeks
The hospital's doors
burst ajar
and I stumble in
Faded memories
Projecting in my mind
like old black-and-white movies
I always seem to cry at
For no reason
She's in a bed
The sheets are white
as if the ghosts have been
Lingering by the bedside
Thin rays of sunlight
Filter through the small window
Overlooking a happy summer day
