I stitched into the fabric
of mortal eyes
memorabilia
two buttons gazing upon
the weave
Black as coal
they eat the sun
ecliptic memory
tender as
ash
Blotted out
they try not see
yet look with eager dread
upon reminiscent shadows
embroidered
Forgotten crook hooks gnaw
searing as they pierce
like pins
upon the mind
that terrorized their conscious
Knot tied; I yank
and smile maliciously
how could you have forgotten?
with a studied snip severed
threads - as once you had done
to me

oooo!! love love this!
you use sewing imagery so well!!!
it adds such a wicked quality to this....what I asked for
I wrote a short piece "seamstress" using sewing imagery as well...it works so well for pain&darkness
love the last stanza!
so great! "with a studied snip severed threads".....a well sewed ending I daresay.
