Wow, it's gonna take me all day and most of the night
Because I have posted only 58 poems so far
and that sure isn't gonna to make me no star
How about if I pen a new poem with 100 words
Maybe a long piece about the bees and the birds
Or better yet I'll write about turning 100 years of age
That should fill up at least one whole page
To date 100 people would have taken most of my life
But I have been quite busy being a good wife
To my partner who helped me pull off that last caper
Which netted us less then 100 bucks or so it was written in the paper..
Little did I know prewrites I needed, 100 in all
I was busy racking up 100 dates and having a ball
While the bards spent their time writing a series of rhymes
Then they all posted their poetry on AP, some with 100 lines
In this first contest of spring if I have only 100 days left to live
I would to all my partners gladly give
The points that I win when you award me the gold
When you all vote my poem the best of the bold
Now to insure that I win points all around
I will work on a groovy partner's back ground
I have no idea how to do any of this
Maybe I should call and ask my favorite sis
Perhaps a tag I will try to make
Can't be that hard, shucks piece of cake
As long as it has # 100 on it
The 'Dove' she ain't gonna throw a fit
So together partners we'll have a blast
Fate has caught us, the die is cast
This is your chance to be the poet of the hour
Best wishes to all in this contest of ours

Author notes
I don't know if this one silly little poem will even get noticed mixed in with all the 100 poems that are being entered but will give it a try...I am not sure I can even vote this one since there are way too many to read and I just do not have time to do it...but good luck to those who took the time to enter that many...

Lol I fear what will happen when we celebrate our 500th contest!

This was so very cute, and clever it put a smile on my face
I've deleted most of my poetry or I would have over 1000 poems
Congrats on completing a very funny and outstanding 100 liner poem!

Yeah, no way I can read all those poems that have been entered...at 49 the old eyes aren't what they once were, not to mention the attention span.

But your poem, what a delight! Funny, a little satiric, and honest.
Yeah, I'm one of those who've written more than lived but I've deleted most of mine. I don't think Yem and Ima have even 50 poems combined.
It's witty, all the different thoughts and ideas on the "100." And if I do enter, odds are this will be my choice for gold...unless someone writes a poem about 100 bottles of Moxie.

Hey, thanks for the nice comment on my piece...how come you delete your poetry? I have always liked what I have read...some very poignant and enjoyable...others just plain enjoyable...I think you should write a poem about 100 bottles of Moxie...or do it with 100 lines or words...I need your vote...
Now I am going to be looking for your entry soon...

I will see what I can write, 100 bottles of Moxie...now there's a dream!

I don't know why I delete my stuff. I just look at it after a few days and want to get rid of it, lol

This about covers it all, Darlene, though with Piph's 207 poems I finally had to go to your author page to find it... it was worth the search, though
A pretty cool poem.
Best of luck in the contest, Sis
