Kids

Kids have so much too say.
They won't stop talking.
Mommy look at this,
Mommy can I have,
Mommy can go.
When does it all end,
you can't help but love them,
they're all we got.
Mommy why is he bald,
Mommy why her hair nappy,
Mommy she ugly,
you can't help but love them,
they're our future,
it will never end.

    HAHA

YES children are INDEED very interesting little bundles of energy. This piece made me think about my nieces and nephews, all of whom are currently under the age of 5. The world is an interesting place from their eyes and though sometimes it IS a bit frustrating because of the constant questioning, we must admit it's fun to see it how they do.

Here's to being in an inquisition..

Kids can be blunt but in a childlike way. They don't grasp that they may be hurting someones feelings by being so open and outspoken. Their minds are inquisitive and all they're looking for are answers from adults. I can relat to this poem, my daughter was once inquisitive too. Avril

  • Too bad we have to lose that childlike way of looking at things and reacting with such honestly.

    Nice write.

You sure have to watch what you let your kids hear because they will repeat it ALL.
And they ask their innocent questions, meaning no harm. Not yet understanding about other peoples feelings. Thank you for entering the contest.

oh, i know how that is....kids. sometimes they ask the wrong questions at the wrong time

the 2nd line from the bottom needs a fix,
    'are,' should be 'our'

    So True

I love it and I like the subject because it is so true what you are saying in this poem. You really know how to use a real situation and put in poetic form. This is why I like you as a poet and this is why I read your work. Keep writing and I'll keep reading.
    P.S.
I wish I could be there to help you with the kids.
