HEART AND SOUL SONGS
SOUTHERN STYLE LONELY

I'm having a hard time finding a women that will stand by my side.
I don't know if it's my redneck raising or just my southern
pride.
Is it to much for me to hope to find a pretty women with a open mind.
One that can handle when I get out of hand,
that wants a redneck lover, a real southern man.
I just seem to scare them all away,
because i say what I mean and I do what I say.
I guess their not use to honesty,
but thats what they get when they talk to me!
I really don't know why I hate to lie.
I guess it's just my redneck raising and my southern pride.
Mom said to always do my best,
To handle all I can and God would do the rest.
And I've heard for the best thing you have to wait.
But that doesn't help a lonely redneck without a date.
It seems that everything I do, I do for one.
Maybe my best years are already done.
It just gets very lonely when all you have by your side, is
your redneck raising and your southern pride!
I don't know what I'm doing wrong,
but lately my relationships just aren't lasting very long.
I think they want me to be a whole different guy.
And frankly I just can't figure out why.
They want to change my hair, and the way I talk.
Change the way I dress, and even the way I walk.
Well if I give in I just won't be the same,
So they mine as well just go ahead and change my name!
The whole ideal of all this changing is very hard for me to abide.
Once again I think it's because of my redneck raising and my southern pride.
No I just don't play games and I never did.
They even seemed useless to me as a kid!
I don't try to change them, and I never judge,
and if for some reason we don't make it I don't hold a
grudge.
It just always seemed easy for me to see,
that I just wasn't made for them, and God must not of made
them for me!
Still no matter how hard I've tried,
I guess I'm just cursed with this redneck raising and my
southern pride!
Yea! I guess I'm destined to be alone until the day I die.
because of my darn redneck raising and my southern pride.
Yes this darn hillbilly redneck raising, and deep down
southern pride!

I use to be in relationships that were really hostageships and the oly way they worked out was if they were Co-Dependant with low or no self esteem True love is a give and take a series of slight bendings towards the others values and vice versa Onc you g

I like the way you use purposeful repetition to emphasize the reason why you're alone. i think that some of the lines are broken off in awkward places. If you run out of room, then find the appropriate place to break it off. Don't just run it into the next line. i like the fact that you say you don't know why they want you to change. it shows a bit of that pride you're talking about. there are some lines that end with the wrong punctuation, like line number 4 should end with a question mark instead of a period, because you're asking a question. In general, it's well written and speaks about smething we can all relate to. Thanks for entering it in my contest
