HEART AND SOUL SONGS
OLE MA BELL

My granny was a wonder women, she did things I couldn't believe.
She knew with God she could accomplish anything she could conceive.
That women had a faith in God stronger than I have ever saw.
She spent 70 years on this earth, and she always gave him her all.
I believe God loved granny more than I will ever know.
She kept faith through all her troubles, and he always blessed her so.
As I look back through the years, the tears just start to flow.
I'm sure glad she no longer suffers, but I just can't seem to let her go.
So many ways she really touched my life,
she gave me a whole different outlook on hardship, trouble, and strife.
She taught me to always look for my strength from above,
and I saw so many things through my granny's eyes of love.
Now my granny lived in the same town most of her life.
She was always giving, as a friend, a mother, and a wife.
She always gave a lot more than anyone deserved,
but as she gave to the people it was her Lord she served.
I have seen her spend a hour just trying to get around.
As she got older her body daily got weaker and tried to hold her down.
But she never let it stop her, she always had a helping hand.
And in 70 years she touched so many life's, that she really blessed this land.
Well I just called her granny, but around town they called her Ole Ma Bell.
Seemed like everybody knew her, and always wished her well.
But the years finally wore her down, and God said her work on earth was done.
But on that day in that small town it was like God had took the sun.
And everybody will always remember the day that Ole Ma Bell died!
Because a small town in Oklahoma took the day off and cried!
I know i sure miss my granny more than you could ever know.
Yes I miss you granny. Oh God how I miss you so!

This sounds like a wonderful woman, a bit reminiscent of my mother-in-law.
You have made a strong case in thankfulness for having known 'Ma Bell' as a local character and as a beloved grandmother.
It is a good tribute poem, made for sharing
