Young and Innocent

Oh to be young and innocent
When all day was spent running around
In shorts and sandles
Playing hide and go seek
Without a care in the world

Oh to be young and innocent
When a knee scraped across a log
Brought tears to your eyes
Turned to a smile
By Mommy’s gentle kiss

Oh to be young and innocent
When your best friend
Would profess his undying love
With a wilting daffodil
And then chase you for hours
Trying to steal a kiss

Oh to be young an innocent
To be without a care
To play all day
Then dream of play all night
To belive in Santa and the Tooth Fairy
And that all the problems in the world
Could be solved with laughter, a smile or a kiss

It still needs some touch up, any suggestions?

not bad, but lacks intensity, and is a little on the nostalgic side for me. i like the second to last stanza the best- it has a good sense of humor.
