Asthiram jeevanam Loke
(Life on earth is not permanent)
Spare a day
I‘ll meet you at your
Lotus, pious feet after a day
My lord! Pardon me
For being anonymous
in my prayers till this day
I didn’t plead any thing for me
and nothing for my pleasure
I prayed you to shower
Your kindness and bliss
On all other living beings
Those wait for their turn
To run towards you
I got a chance
an invitation to your chambers
Spare a day
I will be yours a day after
Tomorrow, I‘ve many things to do,
a gathering to address
on life and time
to stress the point:
Nothing is permanent on earth,
the life, youth and wealth,
beloved wife and lovable kids
All you have to leave behind.
Only thing that may glitter
in thick darkness of time
is the good deed...
Spare a day
I‘ll meet you at your
Lotus, pious feet after a day
My lord! Pardon me
for being anonymous
in my prayers till this day

a very unique way of responding to the prompt ... I very much enjoy your verse ... it reminds me that we all seem to have the tendency of having so many more important things to do than to surrender to the divine ...
and if the next breath will be our last ?
yes, indeed, as you teach us, we will have to leave everything that is not our true essence, behind ...
I love the way you started and ended your poem, it is really very touching ...
thank you,
maa
