My butterfly
Flies through my dreams
My mother told me I had an angel
And I think it's my butterfly
My butterfly changes color
Like a mood ring
But right now
Being creative
She's purple
She's purple
When I write
When I dream
When I sing
When I play piano
When I play trumpet
When I draw
Or attempt to draw
I like her best when she's purple
It means that I'll live
It means that I haven't given up
Because my butterfly is always there
In my dreams
Throughout my life
Because I think my mother is right
I do have an angel
My beautiful butterfly

Very adorable. I really liked it! What a metaphor for creativity - a beautiful purple butterfly. Enjoyed this thoroughly. =]

I agree with Zrailah, this is incredibly cute. At first, I thought it was going to be too childish, but you were really able to pull it together in the end. I especially liked the fourth stanza. Without creativity, you really have no reason to live. I feel the same way sometimes. I feel that if I can't express myself, there's no point in trying. What I also liked was how it was so real. You put your own experiences, your own hobbies, into the writing and it made it so much more personal. Good job. Good luck in the contest.

Inspiring~
Aww, this poem is cute! It truely is. I just adore the childish sort of story to go along with it and the cutesie imagery. I especially like the 4th stanza because it's where I found the most inspiration, it was probably the climax I'd say, it made me smile. Good luck in the contest~
