Three pints today, please,
a light wind to ease
suffering and pain;
then let fall some rain,
drop, by drop, by drop...
sun to make it stop.
a light wind to ease
suffering and pain;
then let fall some rain,
drop, by drop, by drop...
sun to make it stop.

A short list of sweet requests, melancholy in its simplicity.

I've never known a milkman but then, i grew up on a farm and we had a dairy there too.
There is a lovely nostalgia about this note. Thank you for this entry.

My pleasure. I had the idea of writing a note for the delivery-man, and then including a wistful half-prayer / half-poem for a few of the other things to make a day good... as though they too could be delivered to my doorstep.

I like this. It gives an impression of depth, while simultaneously defying logic. Nice one.
