This is so simple:
I have been running to keep still,
In frantic pursuit,
my path leading up a steep hill.
What if I am wise,
my ascetic life long and brave,
if its sole purpose
is one visit to a child’s grave?
Author notes
(As I walked up a local hill yesterday, I changed the relative position of everything in the universe.)

ps. I just realized your little note about "the poem of this moment" - that hasn't been "kept" ... delightful !
-
this short and truly impressive verse has brought goosebumps onto my shoulders ... it must be the angels telling me something here ...

there is something soothing about the message you offer us here ... something that tells me : "useless to struggle - stop and smell the roses" ...
paradoxically - but not really - it also speaks of the usefulness of such a struggle, since it prepared us for the one and only moment that is of importance : the one you so masterfully wrapped into the metaphor of "one visit to a child's grave" ...
thank you so much for this precious present,
maa

I think you are right, life can be this simple. We are here to help one another, to point to the ineffable, which we cannot do when dancing too fast.

Best of luck with this poem of the moment.

No. That was the keys' fault. Very clearly so.
