I need to dig myself a grave
Dig down, deep into the cold black earth.
Dig until my paws bleed, and claws snap off at the quick.
Dig until my fur is matted with blood, saliva, tears.
Until all the unwanted bleeds out.
All my fears, pain, rage, apathy.
All my anguish, uncertainty, loneliness, empathy.
Dig until it’s all gone.
Until all that’s left is a panting, wheezing
Shell of emptiness.
Dig until I’m ready to die.
I need to dig.
