Kingly in his robe, singing on his throne
of a wintry dawn waning into spring
Red cardinal, I hear your joyous own,
ringing true with cheer your song abiding
Call of love to nature, glorious ode
with a mirth, so assured of its promise
Red cardinal I hear your joy, behold
comes a flyer, she will be your solice.
Each morning's walk I hear his humble praise;
I lend my ear to whispers in wind's guise,
to a greater power, its means and ways.
Providence its nature a knowledge wise
Red cardinal, I hear your joyous song
To all that is life and that we belong
