If you'll let me ~~~

 

I would love , to touch just a fraction of your heart

Carry it to a safe haven

and protect you like a Mother.

 

Teach you, the little that I've learnt,

and give you room to grow.

 

If you'll let me~~~

 

I would only love you as much as you need,

and try hard, not to get in your way

If it's space that you need,

the world is at your feet.

 

I have wings to fly

Your tears I'll cry.

 

If you should ever stumble,

I'll pick you up

Go in the wrong direction,

and I'll turn you around.

 

If you'll let me~~~

 

I'll share my life with you

I promise to always be there

Your Angel for life

is what I'll be.

But only, if you'll let me ~~~

    more golds can be added to that trophy case, but the real gold is in the words of promise and hope you share... it seems to me that the real gold is within you...

    Hi Joyce,

    Reading this and seeing the comments you've already gotten only reinforces what I know about you already...that you are the person who will always be there for your friends and even strangers, who eventually end up being friends as well. I can’t imagine I could have picked a better poem of yours to read this morning, as it fits my mood perfectly, and reminds me of just how much I cherish you for all that you are.

    Just a couple quick notes on the write itself...you may want “(a) safe haven” in L3, and did you want the word “up” after “I’ll pick you” ?

    I also think, if we took a vote of everyone who knows you, there’d be an agreement that your last lines should be:
    “An angel for life
    is what I am”
