Backyard Peace



I lie in the grass
Soaking in the warm sun
The grass rough on my arms
But smooth between my fingers
I hear a bird in the distance
And watch a butterfly fly above
Taking in the spring air
I relax and enjoy the beauty
The calm warm day
Feeling blessed
Knowing not all are this good
Not all nature this pleasant
The backyard
Calm and protected
My own bit of nature
Simple and safe
I lie in the grass
Taking in the spring air
My world is at peace for a moment.
