A Hard Time

I stood there and I watched
as you drove out of my sight
I pushed back all my tears
It was a difficult fight

I missed you once again
before you even departed
But it was that single thought
That got my emotions started

I couldn't watch you get ready
It hurt me so very deep
I was so glad you held me back
When I grabbed you and had to weep

Our time felt very short
Much shorter than I expected
But our time created memories
that will always be reflected

I love you ever so much
my words could never Tell
That this time being without you
Is worse than an eternity in hell

But then I hold my head back up
And I smile with all my pride
because I know I'll see you again
It's just this time I have to bide
