What is Best.

I believe that there is something so much better now for her.
And others will tell you in kind ways that your heart will heal.
Perhaps it will in time because of the loss of this child.
I lost two and many times people told me that the Lord knew best.
Well yes, but those are not always the words we want to hear.
So what I know best is these words,
I am sorry for your loss.

Author notes

People who are grieving need time to sort through all the remarks made to them. Yes, I believe that the Lord works in mysterious ways, however when a child has just died, the best words to say are simply I am sorry.
I pray that Cathy and her family be comforted in this time. That is the advice of bereavement counselors and funeral directors.

i have never lost a child so i can never relate to someone losing a child. i can though offer my hugs to people if they want them, a good compassionate poem here.
and on another note, thank you for being so understanding of me and my mad moods when i drink, you are a kind and smiling woman

This is a sad subject to deal with but you did a good job. I agree with your choice of words being those of comfort. My mom lost her first born child. He was only three days old. She has never gotten over it. He would be fifty-four years old today. She admitted she didn't want people pitying her. At any rate, this is a great write. I'm sure everyone can relate to it in some way.

That was such a wonderful dedication and addition to the contest... I think it is wonderful how much support Cathy and her family is getting JUST from AP...Thank you so much for this beautiful entry... though I am not the contest holder, nor related to Cathy, she is a dear friend of mine and I can only hope that these get her and her family through this horrible tragedy... thank you for your support.
